Noted recall: The goal is to describe, in just a few words, what the article is about. Additionally, if I think the article is particularly note-worthy (good or bad), I will comment on that. Compare this to a small sticky note, something to jog your memory about the contents of an article. Of course, if I miss the point of an article, or fail to find anything remarkable, that is entirely the fault of the reviewer.

Superbugs in the Anthropocene - Ian Angus
(read 2019/06/06)
Informative article on antibiotic resistance. Discussion on profit driven motive by drug companies; ads and marketing campaigns; over prescription by doctors; over use where antibiotics can be obtained without subscription. Lots of discussion on second hand effects, that taking antibiotics causes resistant strains to appear. And in particular, waste from livestock contaminates the ground with resistant strains which is transferred to nearby humans.

Energy, Economic Growth, and Ecological Crisis - Erald Kolasi
(read 2019/06/09)
Article about the physical limits to growth. Relationship between economics and physics. Unsustainable aspects of capitalism. How energy use and consumption is calculated, differences between fossil fuels and renewable sources. That greenhouse gas emissions have been reported as decoupled from GDP, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

The Yellow Vests in France - Jean-Claude Paye
(read 2019/06/09)
Short article on the Yellow Vest movement in France. Lots of focus on the organization in the movement, or lack of it, and how the state uses that to frame the discussion. Goals, demands, causes. Macron, and increased taxes on the working class and lower taxes on financial capital.
