Noted recall: The goal is to describe, in just a few words, what the article is about. Additionally, if I think the article is particularly note-worthy (good or bad), I will comment on that. Compare this to a small sticky note, something to jog your memory about the contents of an article. Of course, if I miss the point of an article, or fail to find anything remarkable, that is entirely the fault of the reviewer.

This marks the 70th anniversary of Monthly Review. The editors' comments discuss the history of the magazine during the McCarthy era, and the "Better Smaller But Better" philosophy to offer solid analysis of leftist movements and history without compromising with centrists for popularity.

Detailed article about transitional period in Tunisian history; and a look at tribunals. Comparisons to other historic tribunals and charges raised by panels. Focus on the role of capitalism in imperialism and colonialism, and the continued role during and after a transition to a more democratic form of government.

Book review of Chasing the Harvest. Discusses the importance of California for US food production and the large role that migrant and undocumented workers play. Some history of labor organization, and how that has changed in recent years.

Unionizing the World's Largest Slaughterhouse - Russell Hall

Another book review, this one for Hog Wild. This one also discusses labor organization. The key point was how division prevented organization, for instance, across racial lines. Success was achieved by working with different groups to unite workers (NAACP, immigration groups).
